Government

Free and legitimate elections are critical because they ensure that the government remains for the People, by the People; therefore, there must be zero-tolerance for voter fraud.  I was encouraged to see Congress deny further funding to ACORN after their various fraudulent activities came light; any misuse of taxpayer money is inexcusable, and any attempt to tamper with elections is unconscionable.  I have recently learned, and am disturbed, that funding has been reinstated for ACORN now that Congress feels that the public's eyes are elsewhere.  I believe the initial defunding was intended to deceive Americans, and I believe that Government should be truly transparent in matters such as these.  It is our money!

The "Separation of Church and State" doesn't mean that there shouldn't be mutual tolerance of religious beliefs.  While government may not fund, support, or advocate one religion over another, the historical facts regarding the foundation of our nation shall not be ignore or erased.

The "Separation of Powers" between the Executive (President), Legislative (Congress and Senate), and Judicial (Supreme Court) branches of government must remain balanced and consistent with their Constitutional intent.

Within Our District:

There is absolutely no honest or pure reason why foreign nations, businesses, or individuals should contribute to the political campaign of an American candidate.  This is why there must be (and is) absolute enforcement of these campaign restrictions.

In the same vein, incumbent Allen Boyd has received 81% of his funding from political action committees (PACs), most of which are out-of-state.  Why would organizations outside our district - even outside the state of Florida - donate to Rep. Boyd, if not for selfish reasons?  I strongly doubt that the needs and concerns of the people of District 2 are priority when 81% of his funding are from those who are not his constituents.
