OK – the F-22 Raptor fighter production has come to an end. Granted, we spent billions to design, test, and go into production and who cares about the loss of jobs that relate to the commitment. You can take a position on either side of the argument and probably make it sound convincing.

I propose banning ALL earmark spending – at the very least, for a given period of time while the economy regroups. I would suggest until Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid are solvent. No bill can contain it! If the bill cannot stand on its own – it should fail. Earmark spending is nothing but criminal spending of taxpayer money.
