Assistant DA fired for "originalist" views of the Constitution

By Paul McKain, on May 30, 2010

As you may know, KrisAnne Hall, an assistant state attorney, was fired this past week by state attorney Skip Jarvis, for speaking at tea party rallies and holding an "originalist" view of the Constitution.

I was frustrated and disgusted by the actions of Mr. Jarvis as this appears to be a blatant affront to Ms. Hall's first amendment rights and a smear tactic on the 912 movement and conservative groups in general.

In a recent conversation with a supporter, I was asked if I were the U.S. Representative, would I respond to what appears to be a State issue and then if I would respond, what actions would I take.

American Taxpayers Bailing Out Europe?

By Paul McKain, on May 23, 2010

It appears that President Barack Obama, Tim Geithner, and the rest of the liberal agenda-makers are up to their old tricks again, and not surprisingly at American taxpayer expense.

The European Union’s liberal agenda is going broke in one country after another. This by the way is the model the President and his Congress have for America; liberal spending programs, cap and trade, socialized health care, and bailouts of private industry.

The Gulf of Mexico Oil Catastrophe

By Paul McKain, on May 4, 2010

It became apparent that the catastrophe that occurred off the Louisiana coast was and will be an assault to an already devastated economy -- not only for the coastal communities, but for the affected states as a whole.

In my conversations with workers who have made their living on these oil rigs, they found it almost impossible to have bypassed all of the safety mechanisms that are mandated by the Federal Government which were in fact in place on the ill-fated oil rig.

Could British Petroleum have acted faster? Probably. Could the Federal Government have acted in a more proactive manner? Absolutely!

The problem now is: what do we do from here?

PRESS RELEASE: McKain Campaign Responds to Berryhill's switch

By Paul McKain, on Apr 30, 2010

Today Dianne Berryhill filed to run as an NPA (independent) in the upcoming November Congressional election (FL District 2).  Mrs. Berryhill had been campaigning as a Republican up until today's filing deadline.  This rings all too familiar, considering Charlie Crist's own announcement yesterday, an announcement that many have deemed as selfish and politically expedient.

Mrs. Berryhill, a lifelong red-letter Republican, clearly decided it was in her own political best interest to run as an independent, as she knew she would not win the GOP primary in August.  Per her own website: " 'Your word is your bond,' is a familiar quote from Dianne."  Clearly, her "word" is only her bond as long as it benefits her.
